Having data available to members of the task force will be invaluable not only for public education but also for grant applications and program design. It will provide a new, data-driven perspective to an already anecdotally-rich discussion in Southwest Florida. Hopefully, it can also instill in other civilians the deep respect that I have developed for the people in our community doing what they can to help victims of human trafficking.
As my graduation looms and the real, post-undergraduate world creeps up, I can’t help but be so thankful that I will be spending my first few months of adulthood working with the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida and the SWFL Human Trafficking Task Force to combat human trafficking.
